Over the weekend I recorded an alternative version of a Yellowgroove song Fading Out for promotion of our latest single. I used a simple setup using Logic and an Audio Technica - AT2020 Cardioid Condenser Microphone straight into the Alesis IO26.
Check out the result below and grab yourself a free download.
A few months ago Yellowgroove went away to a cottage in the Peak District for a week. We emptied the lounge and set everything up ready to record.
I recorded and mixed a live take from the session, a cover of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club’s – Spread Your Love. You can listen to and download it for free below.
For the recording I used the band’s rehearsal set up an Alesis IO26 (with some outboard gear) into a MacBook Pro using Logic Express.
The acoustic guitar was DI’ed at the time for rehearsal purposes so we re-recorded that on it’s own after ward. The original vocals were also overdubbed as they had an unacceptable amount of drum bleed.
There’s a few extra overdubs with the with the addition of Wood blocks and Finger Clicks.
I’ll be working on the development and promotion of Seascape Therapy‘s web presence over the next few months. It will be the first project I’ll be using the Twitter Bootstrap 2 on and should allow for quick development.
This was a quick recording, EQ, Master and 2 Camera video for a cover of The Gravedigger’s Song by Mark Lanegan Band off the new album Blues Funeral.
Here’s how it turned out.
We did this really quickly using Simon’s (the singer) Alesis TwoTrack. It was EQ’ed and mastered in Logic. The EQ was just the basic Logic Channel EQ to brighten things up and stop the Acoustic overpowering the bottom end. The Output Channel has used a Quick Master preset that brings the volume up.
